The cost is an issue, but if you're having trouble elevating it, you will have trouble until you completely immobilize it and let the tears heal, OR get it fixed.

The micro tears, will fix themselves over time, but you have to sling it and not move the shoulder up ( lifting motion), or above flat. Think chicken wing straight out . If you can do that forever then it will heal itself over a 5 month period.

Personally, if I had reasonable insurance ( not a 12,000 HSA) where I'm responsible for the first 12k, I would have had my second shoulder surgically repaired. I still might, but for now, it seems to be ok.
