Fill the 3 gal jug and pour all of it into the 5 gal jug. This leaves room for 2 more gal in 5 gal jug. Fill 3 gal jug again and top off the 5 gal jug. This will take exactly 2 gal to fill leaving 1 gal. Empty the 5 gal jug and pour the 1 gal from the 3 gal jug into the 5 gal jug. Then fill 3 gal jug and add it to the 1 gal that makes 4 gallons exactly in the 5 gal jug

Okay, if you've already figured this one out, don't answer

Jcb, this is a good one, I think I know the answer, but why don't you want it answered, thats the fun in posting them, to see if you can post one that no one can answer. by you asking not to answer, no one will answer it, so it will look like it has everyone stumped. answer them all then if one is left unanswered, we'll know everyone is still trying to figure it out.

here's one that has been around for a long time, but it's a good one.

this man went to a prison to visit a man, the Warden said only family members can visit him, what relation are you to him. the man answered saying, sister's and brothers's have I none, but this mans father, is my father's son. so how was he related.

What I meant was, if you've heard it before don't spoil it for those wanting to try to figure it out.

Answer: halfway. Once he gets past the halfway point, he's running *out* of the woods

    Uh...Susan?

Here's one I never could figure out.

59 workers have 10 miles of a freeway lane blocked off, but only 2 of them are actually working. The rest are milling around aimlessly. How does any project ever get completed?

it would be easier to answer, if it were a real situation, instead if a Hypothetically one.
