AWESOME.
Like!! Hahaha
Forget the government and ObamaCare. If we used insurance to buy coffee or groceries, it would cost us a bunch of money too. And pretty soon, we'd be unable to buy coffee without the insurance.
The government and ObamaSurance are bad, but health insurance itself is a very bad thing the way we use it and pay for it (primarily through payroll deduction before the money is in our pocket).
I work in the insurance industry so I'm a little biased.....but I think the root to this issue is not knowing what something costs, and the fact that 85% of all medical dollars spent today are subsidized by the gubment in some way or another.Forget the government and ObamaCare. The way we use it definitely.......the way we pay for it. I don't GET that part of your response. Do you think it would cost less or we'd use it differently if you paid it monthly by writing a check to the insurance co? I don't think so.
When 85% of all payments to a facility or provider is in one way or another partially paid by the government it DRIVES up the cost of the service for every single person. It is an artificial market due to GOVERNMENT paying.
When government is no longer associated with the delivery or PAYMENT of the service, we get the true cost of the service.
I mean that people would scrutinize it a lot more of they had to cut the check themselves as opposed to not ever really seeing the money.
I think they should make it illegal for employers to pay for it as a payroll deduction.
It has to be more money to let another company pay for your Healthcare for you... and take their share in profit off the top as well.
We should all have high deductible policies that we only use in emergencies and pay for the rest out of pocket.
