I love my lews tournament speed sticks, kvd cranking stick, and mojo bass crankster. All are awesome. In my humble opinion
I love my Shimano Crucial rods.
For something that is dragging the bottom ie: texas rig or jig, I want a very sensitive rod. I have 3 Gloomis rods for that.
All other rods are various different Shimano rods with the exception of my crank bait rod and it is a Skeet Reese S glass.
If I could afford it all my rods would be Gloomis but that's just not in my budget. I really like the Shimano rods because they are a great value for the amount of quality verse the amount they cost. Plus they have an excellent warranty. My local Shimano dealer tells me it is an over the counter no questions asked warranty. Just bring in the defective rod with receipt of purchase and he will give you one off the shelf to replace it. There is no warranty fee. Been using Shimano rods for around 5 + years and the best part is I have never had to use their warranty,so the rods must be good.
Pretty happy casting with a Falcon Bucco.
Shimano crucial. Best rod for the money.
I used to use a hodge podge of rods and reels. A few years ago I went to all Loomis and AllStar. I really loved that, but a few years later, after Loomis changed their expediter process and charge, I went to Cumara Rods.
I LOVE the rods. I have some old Cumara Black and 4 of the new Cumara Red. I love those. I still use Loomis rods for my spinning equipment, but may trade those out for Cumara too.
For reels, I have a mix of old Curado Greens and BPS Johnny Morris reels. My wife bought me a Johnny Morris a few years ago and I immediately thought JUNK. I was completely wrong. I like them as well as any other reel.
I might be adding some Lews to replace the Curados though.![]()
.
My spinning reels are all higher end shimano or Johnny Morris...........

I just bought the new Duckett Ghost rod. This rod for $100 is going to be hard to beat. It has great action, its very sensitive and balances great. I love it.
I use mostly conolon premier made by Garcia ive used them for years I don't know if they still make them r not a very good rod for the money.
Ive been through about all of em. Best bang for the buck and warranty was the best shimano you can afford. The crucials feel dead to me after using some higher end stuff, but the cumaras were really nice. My biggest gripe on them was their lack of selection in length/action so i sold most of them but still have a few. I picked up a dobyns champion extreme for jigs and i now have 5 and will continue to add more. Best feel/balance ive had in a rod. Duckett Micro Magics are also very good rods for the money. I think loomis rods are overpriced for what they are, an i still have a few. They are nice rods and worth what you can get them for used. Heard a lot of good things about the 13 rods, but havent tried one
Most of my rods are St Croix and I have been happy with them.
Duckett, St. Croix and Falcon. Not necessarily in that order.
