Get ready for door to door confiscations

This stuff is getting a little scary. In Connecticut nearly 1/2 million folks refused to register their legally owned weapons. Now this jack booted THUG state trooper basically makes it clear the storm troopers will come and take them.

I seriously think this is a gigantic mistake and will lead to dead enforcers, whoever they may be.

Jack booted thug??? A little harsh don't you think. I think he made it clear that it is the state legislators that the caller needed to call and harass rather than the police. The cop was obviously being set up, but kept his cool. I have more problem in this case with the caller trying to coerce the cop into saying what the caller wanted them to say and trying to make him look bad.

and fyi, I don't think the CT law is constitutional. I would not register my guns if TN came up with a similar law.

First thing is I didn't realize you were all moved in down there. Hope everything goes great for you! Anyway, you bring up a good point about registering your guns. I have purchased several from retailers and of course they do the background check and use my CCDW so i am on record as having purchased that gun. I have also sold many of those guns and get folks to sign a piece of paper that shows the time, date, CCDW # and serial number or I wont sell it.

I hope that is good enough if it ever comes down to me having to prove what I have done. At this point there isn't a procedure in place for private sales so I think I am fine. So of my prepper friends are talking of claiming all their guns were stolen or burying their weapons in products that are made for that if they see something like this coming. Personally, I wont do that since it just leads down a road of potential misery. If you have guns that you have purchased from a private seller then you can prolly just not claim them and all is well.

I just hope as a country we don't get to that level but everytime a city or state buckles under the pressure and starts lining up law abiding folks and checking what they have obtained legally we are one step closer to losing the right to bear arms. All it takes is setting a precedence somewhere and things start steamrolling along and before you know it we are wondering how or what happened.

IMO, it will never happen, in any of our lifetime. but talking about it on open forums, like it's going to happen, don't help, kinda like the news media, talking about gas prices are going to go up, they keep talking about it, and talking about it, and the gas companys get to thinking, folks are expecting a gas hike, so lets give them a small price hike.

From my cold dead hands ...

I'd like to see the Governor order the police to start going around and confiscating the weapons from the people in Connecticut and see what bloody hell breaks out.

Hopefully before the above happens this will be challenged and move up to a higher court and be struck down. Registration is the next step to collection.

Are they are buy passing the US Constitution by stacking the Federal or State Courts with anti gun judges.

Well the new Surgeon General Nominee is very vocal about stricter gun control. It comes down to a few things in my mind...If the politicians keep at it they will get what they want. It may take 50 years of trying but they will get it done. If folks who don't own guns could care less about it since it doesn't directly impact them its a win for anyone who pushes for gun control. Add those people who don't care to the liberals who want more gun control and you can see how tenuous this can be.

I'm not overly concerned but I do pay attention to this and little by little they win a few and then we win a few. It's all about people standing up for what they believe the rights of americans are.

Here is what concerns me more

You are right about the non gun owners not caring. If you don't hunt or shoot at the range you probably don't own a long rifle. Some folks may buy guns for self defense. These folks may own a hand gun or a shot gun for that purpose.

I hunt and have hunted since I was 8 years old. I was lucky to grow up in an area where I could hunt. There were fewer houses back in those days in that area and I had free roam of the field and woods behind my parents house.

But these days those same farm fields are developed and have ten homes on them. What use to be farmland is now a suburb.

Today we have fewer areas where people can hunt. If you are not a land owner (big farm) or pay for a hunting lease you probably don't hunt these days. To me that is the scary thing.

I think that right now there are still many people with guns who fill fight the anti gun folks.

But the future doesn't look bright for many potential new hunters. Finding land to hunt on is getting harder in some areas of the USA. Maybe in KY there is still a lot of farms and field where non land owners can still hunt. But the area where I live it's getting harder to find good hunting land. Hunting on public land may support a few new hunters but I've found that hunting on public land *****! Too many hunters on small areas that are still public hunting lands.

The one thing that we hunters have in our back pocket is the Constitution. The Supreme Court needs to continue to side with the gun owners or there could be trouble down the road. I'll be gone before that happens.

My father who passed away in 1977 said if they ever come after my guns I won't need my ammo so I will give the the ammo first.

Actually its discussed daily courtesy of the NRA and other organizations pushing against power hungry politicians who feel the need to impose their belief on the people. I read about it monthly in magazines and see articles as well so talking about it is best imo.

Gas prices are a different story and since you brought it up I have to remind you that your party had more than one person blame the high prices of oil and gas on Bush. They said he was artificially inflating the prices to get himself and his oil buddies richer. It was ridiculous but many liberals and independents believed it.

Grab a beer and sit back and enjoy this poop...Pelosi said this new Democrat Congress will work towards energy independence which will directly affect the price at the pump. Bush favored big oil huh? The Dems stopped 14 billion subsidies to big oil in the first 100 hours of meeting with the new congress?? Really? Whats her district paying now?? Obama well like I said he is a double talking tool....

I'm sure Australians thought that too.
I'm sure New Zealanders thought that too.
I'm sure Germans in 1938 Nazi Germany thought that too.

Yea, it can never happen here.

George you are right on this one

There are those that believe that guns kill people and who want to ban the sale of guns and take away the people's guns to better control us. That won't happen in my life time.

"But if gun's killed people no one would walk out of a gun show alive"

Well, I'm not really into this gun fight so not overly concerned about it but now if Connecticut has a registration law and you have unregistered guns I'm not sure your guns are " legally owned weapons" as Mr. Fisher put it... It would seem to me if I'm required to have a drivers lisc. then I can't be legally driving without one... As to whether that is constitutional or not is a question for the courts.
