Tent on Back of Pick Up Trucks

Anyone have one of these? I am thinking about buying one but don't know how weatherproof they are. Seems like wind would either blow them around a good bit or the straps would rub/scratch the side of my truck. If you have one, let me know what you think of it - pros and cons.

    Thanks

Here's an example of what I'm looking at buying:

They don't handle wind very well. At about 75mph, it's nearly impossible to take a whiz out the window flap without peeing on yourself. It's best if you just pull over first.

What is the benefit with this option instead of simply setting up a tent on the ground next to the truck? Or is it mostly used while traveling and sleeping for the night?

SLP - just looking to save money and not stay at a camp ground when I travel to Guntersville, St. Clair, KY Lake, etc. Also, most lakes here in KY are two hours + away from my house and when I fish tournaments, I have to stay in a hotel or leave the house at 2:30 am...which makes for a long day. Just thought it might make sense to stay over night at the ramp itself in the bed of my truck.

That makes a lot of sense, I bet it would be great for that. I have a covered bed in my truck and I have on occasions considered throwing a mattress in there but haven't ever tried it. I hope it works out for you, it sounds like the perfect solution. Just be safe sleeping alone at a ramp.
