They are going to revamp the SAT,s. I was surprised at the amount of folks who paid thousands of bucks to get the kids to pass those things. Both my kids are college grads, I paidfor their primary parochial education.They did the rest themselves.[my daughter almost maxed the test]. All my grandchildren went or are going to college. I tried,but it wasn't to be. So for all my complaints and bitching, the lord has treated me well. And for a long time.

We learned two weeks ago that Liz received a $102,000 Presidential scholarship. There were only 5 students in the state who qualified to take the test (6 hours). Liz was told that it would be $92,000 but her grades were so high the college added another $10,000 to her scholarship. The weekend before she took the test her dad gave her a 2012 Chevrolet Volt (?) that had only 30,000 miles on it. That kid sang and danced until 3 am after he gave her that car. The other old car she had been driving had about died and was ready for a funeral.

We are, indeed, grateful to The Lord for blessing her with both a great scholarship and a good car.

I didn't score worth a crap either time I took the test. My best was 1040 yet I graduated from purdue university with a 3.93 GPA in the school of pharmacy. Too bad it doesn't measure desire, work ethic or dedication. I know kids that scored way over me that made nothing of themselves. The only thing that could be measured with certainty was the amount of money spent for the test and all the preps one might purchase to try and pass the test. I forgot my license the day of the ACTs and fortunately that spared me the embarrassment of a low score.
