    Fiberglass Repair

I have a chipped place in the gunwale on my Ranger. It's probably about 3/4 of an inch across and a few centimeters deep, I'm guessing. Unfortunately, it's in the metal flake. I got an estimate of $450 to $500 from a local shop. There's another shop about 45 minutes away that I considered contacting. My question is, having never had to do this before, does the estimate sound reasonable? I really don't have anything to compare it to. Thanks for any advice!

Guy Voyles and American boat and yacht repair did some work on the hull of my skeeter last summer and I can't imagine anyone doing a better job then his guys did. I had some significant damage and the thing looks brand new again. He gets my vote.
