I've used to fish all the time from yaks off Indialantic, Fl. whenever the water was calm enough. I've never had that happen but I've been towed a couple of miles out by a tarpon more times than once. I used to catch lot of kings from yaks too and about half the time a cuda would come up and bite their tail off. Offshore yak fishing is definitely not for the faint of heart and best done in duos.

Jason, I was wondering if that was you. I figured that it was since it was out of Navarre Beach. I rememer another big shark that came out from under your kayak and took a King from you last year when my son and I were kayak fishing with you.

If any of you guys are down around Pensacola or Navarre, it is definitely worth looking up Jason for a kayak fishing trip. He will put you on the fish and you will have a blast.

And YES, that shark actually scared the crap out of me because it was VERY close to grabbing my hand! I wish I had that on video!

Yes, I saw the video on Yahoo. I'm hoping the fishing is good down there about mid May; that is when we will be heading that way.

I hope you and your family are doing well!

May is one of my favorite months. Most mahi, sailfish and tuna are caught in the months of May, September and October!

We are doing well, heading down to Melbourne tomorrow to visit some friends and do some snook and tarpon fishing! Cant wait!

I have friends in Cocoa Beach and Indialantic just across the causeway from Melbourne. There's been a lot of rays off Patrick AFB and the Port. Huge cobias are being caught with the rays. Lots of phins being caught offshore too. Get out there if you can. Also good catches of cobia, snook and oversize redfish at Sebastian Inlet.
