Tracker 175TXW Question

This thread is exactly why I'm surprised that you don't see more vhulls on KY Lake. Seems like a nice vhull would remedy lots of these issues. I've got an old Tracker vhull that handles Barkley fairly well..got a new 165 Alumacraft Competitor on order though. That boat will handle some decent chop with minimal problem.

Thanks for everyones answers. You have helped me make up my mind on the boat. I have thought about the vhulls. Maybe I will look a little closer.

The v bottom handles rough water great, but I've heard they get blown around really bad? Is this true with aluminum v bottoms, a glass v bottom I would think would be very solid. Just curious

get blown around period. I had an h-56 Xpress that the hull weighed 1100 lbs without the 135 Merc. that rode outstanding & was pretty quick too. 60 gps with 2 200 lb. men. I loved the boat except in wind. In my opinion that was the absolute only down fall it had. I now have an 18 foot glass boat that the hull weighs 1150 lbs without the 150 that is on it & there is absolutley no comparison. If it hadn't been for the wind issues I would have never went back to glass, but when trying to fish ledges 30 feet deep with just a small wind blowing down the hollow & you can't hold on it it will piss you off highly. lol
