Agree. People are going to abuse a variety of substances in an effort to get high. You will never stop it. Only chance to actually slow it down or make people think twice is though education. An no, not that silly just say no crap that we heard in the early 80's. The billions that are spent every year on trying to stop drug trafficking would be better used on educating kids on the actual dangers of use and abuse of drugs.

On another note, what business does the government have telling consenting adults what they can and cannot put in their own body? If it has no affect on others, I don't really give a crap what someone wants to ingest. Now, you get on the road after shooting heroin or drinking 5 shots, I have a problem: you have the potential to harm someone other than you. If your actions have the potential to harm others, or you are giving the stuff to kids, then the law should be there to stop you.

Excellent and spot on post. There are now PROVEN studies and actual cases where people are living better lives with the use of medical marijuana. It has alot of good to offer and I recently saw a show where a young child was having hundreds of violent seizures per week. It was just terrible and now by ingesting small amounts of marijuana medically prescribed she is down to one to three seizures per week with some weeks having none at all. She has been able to attend school and live a semi normal life. Her parents are elated and it has been a God send.

We need to open our eyes to possibilities and explore this organic plant as it has many useful capabilities. Am I proposing laying on the couch all day smoking pot and eating Cheetos of course not but it is and can help many folks maybe God grew it for a reason......

    way back then

you could buy legally many pain killing drugs. Paragoric, codeine cough syrup, and forms of cocaine. Just sign the book. What isn't addictive? Gambling, food, alcohol, computer games. There will always be and were addictive things that needed "regulation, and the cure turned into another problem

Yes, I remember when my daughter told me that nothing was going to get in the way of her having a good time. She was a sophomore in high school. She was very talented as far as athletics. She was on the cheerleading squad and was so good at tumbling that the entire crowd would call her out. She was also an excellent fast pitch softball player. She was a pitcher and played all other positions except catcher. She pitched a game in which she was able to beat a team that hadn't lost in 2 yrs. Then she discovered pot. She quit cheerleading, something she had done since she was 5 yrs old. She quit softball, something had done since she was 5 yrs old. Her grades went down hill to the point that she is 24 yrs old and still hasn't graduated. We told her that if she didn't stop, she would try other drugs because pot wouldn't be enough. She said she would never do those other drugs. She told us how she knew exactly what was in Meth. Well after not seeing her for over a year and then hearing how she nearly got busted(the cops busted down her door twice)and her coming home high as a kite because she swallowed her drugs, we finally got her home. One of her pot smoking friends brought her home to us. She looked terrible. She hadn't been asleep in over a week. She was covered in pic marks from the meth. She was so skinny with dark circles under her eyes. She had done all drugs except for heroin(she says, but she is an addict and I don't believe a word she says). Her boyfriend got 4 yrs in prison. Her other boyfriend did a year and a half. Her last boyfriend was looking at 25 yrs, but narc'd and got out after 6 months. Every boyfriend she has had has done either prison or rehab or both. I was able to get her in a rehab program and after 6 months came out clean. What a nightmare. I know I've talked about this before, but it is a very emotional subject for me.

Thank you so much for your personal story on this matter.

I come from a family of dope heads. Don't tell me dope isn't a gateway drug. Yea, maybe for some folks it is not, but for pretty much EVERY dope head I know, it is/was.

And now we have states all over the country legalizing it. BRILLIANT.

    Later,

    Geo

Mean Marone i'm very sorry. I also hope she is in close enough reach to bring her back to reality.

I make no mistakes in my observations of marijuana use, like I said earlier, some people are simply denying the facts. 7mph and no deaths from it, easy to tell the users.

You made plenty of mistakes in this debate. All you have is opinion, but science proves otherwise. You do realize the movie "Reefer Madness" was not real don't you?

As for your comment "easy to tell the users," it just shows how foolish you are.

Like I stated earlier, I make no mistakes in my observations. Sorry, maybe it is you that needs to touch base with reality.

Bluegrass pipeline? LOL, just wait. I promise I will remind you that I told you so just like the pot deaths, I didn't supply a link because you have google and I know how fragile your internet ego is.

I understand that you still live in the 50's, but many of us live in today. Science has proven you wrong on multiple occasions. Weed will be legal in this state long before any pipeline that has no benefit to Kentucky will make it across private property..

First it sounds like you have seen some research on traffic fatalities due to "weed". It's taken awhile but it seems to be getting out.

Second, I don't live in the 50's I grew up in the 80's,. when everyone knew what potheads were. They were the same individuals that spit on our troops returning from Vietnam, hippies. That is true still today. I still do not know any "professionals" that "smoke weed", likely never will.

The pipeline is already halfway across Ky, I should probably say 75%.
