I bought five back at the end of january, The pro ripper, dive master jr., dive master 14, dive master 20 and the stick master. I knew that livingston had done a lot of research before this bait came out so i figured it would be a safe purchase considering they are normal baits with just the added chirp noise to them, with the exception of the dive master 14 which also has a red light in it. When i first purchased them i tested everyone to make sure the chirp was working as it was supposed to and every one was fine. I have fished all five baits over the past 4 months. After the first use on the dive master 20 the chirp seemed to mailfunction and sounded like the speaker or sound device in it had blown or broke somehow. It constantaly made a crackling noise for a few days until the battery died or it just broke completly. I never caught a fish on the dive master 20. I have had luck fishing with the dive master jr. and the dive master 14. Both seem to consistantly catch fish when the conditions call for this type of bait but so do other crank baits i use. I have not caught fish on the pro ripper, dive master 20 or the stick master. One real concern i have is the battery life. Im not sure how long they are supposed to last and i cant find that information anywhere on their web site. They are only supposed to be activated when in the water but i have had them continue to chirp for over 10 min after taking them out of the water. also if the hooks are touching while in storage this will cause them to chirp as well.
So would i recomend this bait to other people? Well considering i know the technoligy works, just like the hydrowave, i dont see how it could hurt anything by using them. does it really put more fish in the boat, well that i cant say for sure but at $12 you can buy more expensive baits that dont have this technoligy in them. Buy one or two and try them out because at the end of the day its still a crank bait and it will catch fish either way!
