Smallmouth fishing plate

Does anyone know anything about the smallmouth plate that was suppose to be issued about 2 years ago? I purchase 2 of them and still no plates.

I got this email last week:

Currently we are still under the moratorium regarding new plate creation. I do not have an expected timeframe as to when the moratorium might be lifted. The Special License Plate Committee will meet again on June 17th. Should any decisions be made at that time, I will share it promptly.

Now from what I have heard from an inside source. KY Dept. of Transportation was implementing a new system for the plates called AVIS. 3M was supposed to be building this new system, apparently alot of things have gone wrong with the creation and implementing this new system. word is the State is about to sue 3M for the botched program...alot of blame is being thrown around. In short there will be no new specialty plates anytime soon. *****, I am waiting on mine too.

I have heard rumors that the new smallmouth license plate is being delayed because of problems in the development of a new vehicle registration system for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The contractor developing the new system has apparently not been able to implement a satisfactory system for the state. Don't be surprised if legal action is taken against the contractor because of the delays.

I don't think you can get a refund on a donation. The money you paid was technically a donation.
