Just to give a short feedback report on our trip to Barren:

We caught around 18 keepers on Monday with maybe only two dinks, most fish in the quality 15-20in. range up to about 2.5 lbs...mainly these fish came from deeper main lake ledges throwing deep cranks 1/2oz. jigs and a couple on jerks on long sloping main lake flats in the a.m. around the bend from the state marina area (my friend managed to catch an 8lb-ish channel cat on a jerkbait first thing in the morning)

Tuesday-we had a late start due to weather but I managed to catch 6 keepers within 20mins all in the 1.25-1.5 range near the dam off a ledge break on a midrange Lucky Craft crank. Later that evening, after a major front had just come through mind you, we hit them pretty good. Caught several quality sized bass off the break of the Penninsula point dragging 1/2oz jigs off small ledge breaks and several off the ledge-side of the congruent island with one that my buddy caught flippin' a texas-rigged worm that tipped just over 3lbs. We also managed to see/catch a couple 2lb.ers out a school that happened to pop up in front of us and as we conveniently had our bama rigs to launch at 'em.

Overall, we caught a multitude of quality fish over the two days especially considering the crazy hot summer conditions. We noticed it was imperative to fish the evening/dusk time frame especially when searching for that heavy lunker bite. Unfortunately, none of the 4+lb range showed themselves but the quality AND quantity of largemouth and spots in Barren will definitely have us coming back for a return trip in the fall!

Hope this helps someone out there,
Regards Jake
