I hope the Republican who won the Primary can win the seat.

My biggest problem with the Tea Party is that in many races they can win the primaries, but cannot win the seat.

Like Matt Beavin........He was a darling of the TEA Party but Grimes would destroy him. Hell, Grimes will probably beat Mitch.....but I'd rather have Mitch than Grimes in that spot........ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

The Tea Party want it all at once..........we will NEVER hold the Senate or White House again if we don't understand that moderates are necessary to win with Republicans. Hell, just look back at Reagan.......He would be called a conservative DEMOCRAT today. We need to understand that the first thing we need to do is WIN the house, WIN the senate, WIN the presidency. After that, you can start weeding out the bad pubs, and seat those you want/need.

Cantor losing his seat is a loss for us, because I suspect he will run as a write in, split the vote, and REPUBLICANS LOSE........

Well George there are a lot of things that we don't agree on but this is not one of them. You are right on the money here. Cantor would be foolish and selfish if he were to try to run as a write in candidate. First I think it may be illegal for him to do so. Second you are right in that it would split the GOP ticket and put a Dem in the Senate from the state of Virginia.

You are also right about the GOP having to become Moderate to win the Senate or the WH. But unless they try to pull a Romney and say one thing while feeling and doing the opposite then they won't get back in the way they are going by swinging to far to the right that anyone just barely to the left of the tea party candidate won't even win the primary.

I use to think that the GOP were the party that stuck together but not anymore. The GOP got rid of Richard Lugar and that IMHO was a bad idea for the country. At least Lugar would make some deals to get the Government functioning.

One can't be too Idealistic in their goals and get much done. All we get when they do that is STALEMATE and a Government that's not functional at all. IE they shut down the US Government Twice over the last 20 years. Once with Clinton in the WH and once with Obama in the WH and what did it accomplish? Nothing good for the GOP.

No one party will have a super majority that can CONTROL the entire Government. There are always the Courts that decide which laws are good or bad according to the constitution. And even when the Dems had a majority in the US Senate and the House they still could not get much down due to the Senate Rules and the Filibuster. Now that may be a little different today as the rules have been changed in the US Senate a little bit as to nominations of the President getting filibustered. The GOP over did the filibuster and therefore the US Senate Majority changed the rules to make it a simple majority to over ride a filibuster when it came to Presidential Appointments. But the other rule makings are still subject to the filibuster so the Dems would need a 66% majority in the US Senate to CONTROL the Senate. Note: The word Control ! A simple majority can't really control the US Senate. I told my idiot neighbor this one day when Obama was starting his campaign for the Presidency. He is so stupid. He told me that my vote for Obama would be a waste as Indiana never would vote for Obama. Well my neighbor was wrong again as usually. The college drop out know it all is normally wrong but never can figure that out. He is such a blow hard idiot. He's about 80 lbs overweight and short to boot. He was one of those linemen on the football team that was just big and fat and hard to push backwards. All he had to do was stand there and hold his ground. That worked in HS football but it doesn't work well in real life. People simply just walk around him and leave him standing there helpless to move on. He didn't understand the meaning of Control and would argue until he was blue in the face that the majority should control the Senate. What he failed to realized is that trying to get all the Dems to vote the same way is akin to herding Cats at time. That's because the Democratic party is so diverse. Unlike the GOP which is normally a tight nit group of rich white men with similar interest in lowering their taxes the Dem's have many ideas on what's good for the country. And even when they had 60 Senators and a couple of independants that leaned to the left they still had a hard time in Controlling the Votes in the US Senate when the GOP could filibuster at every turn. The pace of the voting was slowed down and nothing was really accomplished. In a way it's good that the US Senate is the deliberate body in our Government. It's good that they take their time and slow down the process and debate it. But the GOP was debating everything to death with the intent of getting nothing done. And that was bad. Therefore the Nuclear Option was used for one part of the voting process in the US Senate. That where they vote to confirm the Presidents Nomination. After all the President was the commander and chief and he won the election twice and deserves to have his people in those appointments.

I hope the Republican who won the Primary can win the seat.

t will NEVER stop. As long as folks hire undocumented workers it will continue. We ignore the biggest offenders. Actually protect them in many cases. I remember when a livable wage wasn't a sin.

I don't think we will win the senate.........ultra right wing is not the way to win.

Look at the races. Look at Kentucky. I think Mitch loses, due to folks sitting out because Beavin didn't win the primary. I know a CRAP TON of folks who are not going to vote period..........that **** *****.

The winner in that election, said "dollars don't vote", I think its a little early to make that statement. Maybe the writing is on the wall for some long term incumbants.

I protest voted against Mitch and not necessarily for vote Bevin but that was the choice I had.I won't vote for Grimes that is a given so I will vote for Mitch next....it really sukks that these are our choices.

I understand the protest vote..........which is fine, but I have a TON of friends who are going to sit out and not vote for mitch and not vote for grimes.

That is a horrible, horrible idea. YOU vote for the better of two evils, or you end up with the worst of the two evils.

NOT voting is a vote for Grimes.
