When I was 8 or 9 I was wandering the KY River bank and found an orange stake that had about 4 feet of line and a hook tied on it. I found a redworm under a rock, put it on the hook and immediately caught a 3" shad. With nothing better to do, I threw the still-hooked shad back in the water, and within seconds pulled out a 14" bass.

Decided it was going to be my pet. My house was about 5 blocks from where I was. I ran full speed home, turned on the bathtub water and put the bass in it. I didn't know anything about chlorine at the time.
