Let me guess. You throw a rapala shad rap just like the other 2 million crankbait fisherman on taylorsvilleI love crankin myself but I find jigs catch bigger fish. I fish a farm pond with lipless crankbaits and will catch 15 10" fish and several weeks ago threw on a jig for the first time in the pond and caught a 4 pounder. A lot of times it's just picky fish deciding what they want. Same pond one week later on the same timber my buddy pulled out a 5 pounder off a crank. Why do they have to be so picky lol
Eels are quite common in KY.
the river is full of them.
You can catch both speices during Jan. Feb. out of 18mile creek. Glog of worms or mess a minows, and it is amazing the size hook they can get in there mouth. You will catch mud puppies about 10 to 1 more than Hell benders. Chuck
My buddy pulled a mud puppy out of elkhorn in march and ive caught a few oit of lock 2 on ky river the biggest one being about 16 inches when i caught it i had no clue what to do i was tripping out the thing bit the hell out of me didnt cut me but it had some bite preasure but that was in january when the river was rolling flooded and i was fishing the trees by the stairs trying to get some crappie or a rogue sauger
