I was raised on fishing this lake in the 80 's and 90 's... catching a average of 20 or 30 bass aday then...working thru alot of smaller fish to find the '' good ones ''...and the gill bite was fantastic too...We all know the illegal shad stories that happened to Patoka...but my question is WHY? WHY did it change? What about the shad caused the decrease in the numbers of bass in the lake? This isnt a gripe session because Patoka is now a challenge...I catch my share of big bass...but its not the lake it was in this time period...and if you say its fine, its the same lake its always been...your crazy...I can go to Rough and catch 20, i can go to Nolin and catch 25...Barkley...over 30 a day...Patoka...10 bites and your doin good...and you better not miss those bites...Lets hear from you Hoosiers !!
