Well, went to Taylorsville today and survived

. Temp was 81.5 when we got there and about 83.4 when we left this afternoon. Chased the jumps for about an hour or so when we got there. Looked like a mixture of small bass, whites, and a few bigger hybrids mixed in. We threw a large variety of baits but never caught one. Frustrating. A few knocks of the bait but no hookups as they were up and down quickly. The shad were very small maybe an inch long. Finally gave up the ghost chase.
Headed to the creeks. Caught fish on wood in the creeks. Plastics better than cranks.
Wind was a bigger issue late morning, early afternoon, than the joyriders. Beat my boat to death in the stickups.
Considering it was July 4 weekend adventure, It was a success. bass were like footballs.
Of course, as is almost always the case on my trips, i managed to catch the misc "trash" fish. Caught a drum casting into a couple of jumps in the back of a creek where the shad were schooled later in the day.
