what's a trip like that cost? did you fly up and contract local guide? stay in motel or fish camp?
What he said I went in 2008 it is unreal. I caught one that was 155lbs. I am not smart enough to post a pic.
Definetly on my bucket list...Great fish.

Oh hey man no problem. I love seeing riverrat's big cats he catches!!
We flew up to Anchorage, rented an RV and drove around to different places. We got a guide service out of Seward for the Halibut. the Halibut trip was about $300/per person. the flight costs vary and then you have to drive to seward so costs can be a big range of numbers depending on how you do it. we stayed for 8 days and did some other guided trips for King and Sockeye salmon while we were there. The cost of shipping the filets back, overnight, was about $6/pound and that gets it vacuum wrapped in portion sizes (1-1.5lb) packs, flash frozen and shipped over-night. But fresh halibut was going for $27.99/lb so it becomes worth it.
