to answer the original qusetion...yes it does seem they are "slicing" more live "shad minners" than normal.
i guess the lake level coming back up helped the gar too lol.
well i tried it at a deer camp in mississippi, to be honest it was a pretty big deal, everybody was really looking forward to "gar patties". i will NEVER complain about someone elses cooking...especially as a guest...BUT gar is not for me, this stuff makes drum tatse like lobster![]()
Man that must be some foul fish to make a drum taste like a lobster. I'll try just about any kind of food once but hopefully it's not as bad as you say. As far as catching the stupid things I've been really successful this year for some reason. They've got my shad a bunch and I've caught several off a roostertail. Really annoying when they're stealing bait. The only time I like gar around is when I've got a bow in my handwell i tried it at a deer camp in mississippi, to be honest it was a pretty big deal, everybody was really looking forward to "gar patties". i will NEVER complain about someone elses cooking...especially as a guest...BUT gar is not for me, this stuff makes drum tatse like lobster
