If I'm not getting bit on my 4" Gene Larew craw (texas rigged) ... then I'm slinging a crankbait at night. Seems to work very well during June & into July, but not so much (for me) in Aug. I'm talking about fishing at Herrington, but it likely works as well on other lakes. If they're prowling the bottom in up to 20' of water, I'm throwing the craw ... but, if they're suspended out in 15-20' of water & off the bank a ways, I'm crankin. And don't be surprised if you catch a Hybrid Striper, Catfish, Drum, or Gar ... along with some nice sized Bass.

Pretty much any bait you would throw during the day ... you can get bit on at night. You just have to consider at what depth the fish are likely to be, considering water temps & conditions, and choose the appropriate bait to present to them at that depth.
