Alright, let's be objective and unbiased on this one. Lord knows that I can't stand Obama, but think about a DAILY intelligence briefing. It's pretty difficult to make a DAILY anything whether you are the President of a country or President of a business. That's 365 straight daily intelligence briefings. Things don't change that much day to day that one of the Presidents advisers can't sit in on the briefing and relay anything of earth shattering significance that changed since yesterday's breifing.
I, for one, don't have an issue with the attendance on this one. The President of my company doesn't make every staff meeting, but you can be **** sure that the really important issues get relayed up to him wherever he is...whether it's an email, a text, or a phone call. This isn't the 1800's - Information can travel pretty fast.
Pointing to an attendance figure is an attempt to make the President look like an unconcerned ass-bag that is shirking his duties, when the more damning issue is not the attendance....it's the issue of shifting the blame to his head of intelligence for the "surprise" rise and underestimation of ISIS. Attendance in the same room for a meeting has nothing to do with not listening to or reacting to the intel being given to you the other 180 times you actually were in the briefing, or even getting it second hand.
My Grandfather always said that there is no sense being hit by a bus if somebody warns you 5 minutes before it's coming.
The reality is that ISIS or Khorasan or whatever 100 other terrorists groups are supposedly in the picture now is nothing more than Al Qaeda as a different name. Since our Dipstick in Chief already declared that Al Qaeda was all but destroyed and on the run after HE killed Bin Laden, he can't admit that he was wrong and call this deal what it is. Instead, now we have these "New Threats" that have developed in ISIS...which his advisers have been telling him was coming all along. If you couldn't see the region falling back into Radical Islamic influence, then you were an idiot. He will not take the blame. He'll shift it to "bad intel" and go from there. They are called sacrificial lambs for a reason.
How much respect would a lot of people gain for Obama if he walked up the podium and said, "You know what? I really dicked this up. I made some underestimations and miscalculations and we're having to dig back out of a hole now because of it. It's my fault, America, because I'm the Commander in Chief."
That's what LEADERS do. They take the blame, even if not all of it is on them. They take the responsibility for their company/organization/administration's actions...when it's good...and when it's bad.
Our President doesn't seem to get that.
That's the issue with our "Commander in Chief"....it's not some BS stat about how many daily intelligence briefings that he has attended. I'll bet other Presidents have had similar stats??
