Strong storms expected

If you haven't seen the weather they are calling for 1-3 inches of rain and possible tornado activity. I have my flash lights and safe place plan ready to go in case of the worst. Stay safe everyone!

Yep it's going to get wild. I personally think this is evolving into a massive rain maker. The line of storms and torrential rain that are heading this way are already moving fairly slowly as the parent low behind it is dragging it's feet. Now the models are showing it making it here in south central Indiana and central Kentucky around midnight and not existing until Noon Tuesday. If that happens and storms train over the same area we could be looking at a monumental biblical type rain in excess of 4 to 5 inches. I hope the models are wrong but I am VERY concerned about this one.

Mr Fisher I was wrong and I'm glad however some area's just to our west got dumped on and some wind damage as well. That front made it to about 40 miles west of Louisville and basically just stopped for several hours. It allowed it time to lose punch from daytime heating and now is slowly migrating East. I had .66 inches at my house in central Oldham C so far. I do look for on and off rain the rest of the day, tonight and tomorrow and we'll end up up at slightly over an inch. We can handle that versus what could have been. What a dynamic system and was a Meteorologist's nightmare to call.

Well it was .66 of an inch and now it's well over an inch and still coming down and the front continues to stall. That 2 inch mark at my house is becoming very reachable and soon.

I only scratched the 1 inch mark here in bardstown. We didn't get hit to hard. Lucky that front stalled before it got here. The NWS believes there was a possible funnel cloud touchdown in the western part of the state

I was in bed around 5:30 am just waking up and I hear "thud" which got my attention because it sounded like a car door slamming or something hitting a car...about 30 seconds later I hear the same "thud"...now I'm up and down the stairs thinking someone is messing with my truck! I get out in the rain flashlight in hand and no one is around.

I inspected the truck and found that a birds nest had fallen out of the tree I parked under and hit the top of my extended cab...twice! I guess the wet weather was to much for the nest. It had some mono line wrapped up in the twigs and what looked like old grass clippings as well.

Sad part is my guard dog "Maxx" didn't bark and when he saw it was raining he stayed inside!

Man I have leaves, leaves and more leaves. My two Ash trees are 30ft tall and 25-30 years old. They dump a lot of leaves. Both neighbors have ash trees as well and they don't rake very often or at all so I rake theirs too. 25-30 paper yard bags and 6-7 times of using the big yard waste container we have from the city. Between golf, bootcamp and fishing my back gets taxed a lot and adding raking for an hour or so two times a week just flat sulks!!

You boys stop whining about a few leaves, I've got 2 full grown River Birches right up next to the back of my house, and a Bradford Pear over part of the concrete back patio. Right about this time of year I fantasize about hunting down the former owners and doing bad things to them.

Well now fellas I have a 50 plus foot Water Maple in the front yard by the driveway. A ancient Redbud on the other side and two mature Ash trees. Neighbor has a monster Tulip Poplar and Bradford Pears two of them and he lives slightly North of West from me and has never even heard of a rake in his entire life. Wind gives his all to me.

Oh now the back yard, surrounded by woods on basically two sides and in the yard itself a ''no kidding'' 60 foot plus Sycamore with leaves bigger then John Kerry's head. One of them will litterally stop up a gutter if turned sideways. A Walnut tree, two more Ash trees a mature Cherry tree and well......................ok I'll stop you get the picture.
