Let me see..........I don't TRUST the gubment actually knows. And if the worst possible time to spread it is when folks are coughing and sneezing, all it will take is a sick person on a subway, or a plane, or a boat, or a cruise ship.

THINK FLU. The flu is not really that contagious either, yet MILLIONS and MILLIONS of folks get it every year. Unlike Flu though, Ebola will KILL YOU.

This **** is scary , scary, scary, and our good for nothing ******** gubment is holding out.

Then you reach an age, when you can sit back and look at life.there isn't much you can do to change it. You don't have that much of quality time left to worry about it.Bad memorys are forgotten, good times are magnified. And you can see thne humor and folly for what it is. I know I like to ruffle feathers here, but after awhile you recoganise bullsht , weve walked through acres of it.
Well I can't argue with you seeing that and making it through. I won't compare Ebola to Aids or polio (yet) since polio has killed hundreds of thousands and Ebola to my knowledge hasn't killed that many. Aids was/is a disease that could be contracted by "playing for the other team" or unsafe sex with women who may be infected....yes blood transfusions with infected blood and drug users sharing needles also was a way to get the disease.

i remember the aids scare very well. High school friends who we knew were gay have passed away. Being a little to loose with women at times put a scare into me so I got tested and let me tell you that was scary. Anything that you could possibly be exposed to is scary when your waiting on the test results!!!

The Great Depression is interesting to me....it wasn't great but most assuredly the worst.

Ebola can be contracted by innocent folks who are not engaged with the practices I described with aids. All I'm saying is I would not be flying if I had a choice (wouldn't lose my job over it). I'll let this get worked out or until it gets exposed for how bad it is. Face it the info we get has been all over the place.....I will be cautious like I am with folks who have a cold or flu. I have turned down fishing trips with my buddies if they are sick. I can't stand to not be at 100% so why would I knowingly expose myself to some virus or bacteria that will make me sick??

Don't give the terrorists any ideas

We have to get certified with hospital infection control policies and Hospital Engineer programs on a regular basis. They discuss MRSA, aspergillosis and many other infections that we could have a hand in spreading by not following the hospital guidelines. Ebola may be another topic real soon if this doesn't get nipped in the bud. Can you imagine what a few infected folks wandering around could do to our country??? This thing could get tied to illegal immigration in a heartbeat if it's found out that an illegal has the disease. What about terrorists? Look at how tough it would be to battle that!?!?!?? Yeah ok I may be stretching it a little but I just don't think we have been told the whole truth yet.
I also fear that they might use Ebola or some other biological organism to spread fear in the USA and to disrupt our country.

I'd vote to put a ban on flights coming out of the afflicted areas in West Africa. But then that would have to be managed by all the other countries in the world to be effective. As anyone could fly to another country out of West Africa and then hop a flight to the USA from that new country. So it may not work. But I'd still ban all flights out of that area to the USA. Better to control as many as we can than to say we should not do anything just because we can't stop them all. Stopping 90 or even 10% is better than not stopping any of them. IMHO

I'd also tell the Congress to vote to spend emergency money and give more funding to the Government Agencies that are helping to try to stop the spread of Ebola. The CDC needs more funding not less. And remember that the CDC is an ADVISORY agency NOT AN ENFORCEMENT Agency. So they have no authority to tell the Hospital in TX what they can and can't do. All they can do is advise them. The people who have the real authority to quarantine people in TX is the TX county Health Departments and the State's Health Agency. State rights you all love so much is responsible for that being the case. But then there are times when the State's don't have the expertise and money to handle some things and they need help from the Federal Government.

The USA has never had to face this EBOA virus before and it going to take some time to get this figured out. But they need to hurry up and get it right the first time. TX Presbyterian didn't get it right at all and had two of their ICU nurses contract the EBOLA virus. They failed as the nurse who treated the other sick nurse told the Press recently. That ICU nurse told of what was going on behind the wall of that TX Hospital in Dallas. Now the two sick nurse are in other special Ebola Hospitals that have cared for other Ebola patients without getting their staff infected. They had to get rid of those two sick nurses as most of their other nurse were threatening to walk off the job down in TX. I would not continue to work there either if they didn't provide their employees with the proper hazmat suits that protected them from the virus. Tvec suits are for working with asbestos and not infectious organisms that are living and can replicate themselves in our bodies. I've been in charge of many Asbestos Abatement Projects and am fully familiar with the work place procedures that control and prevent the release of asbestos fibers into the environment. From negative air enclosures to decontamination showers and clean rooms and air testing I've been involved with supervising these jobs in Commercial Buildings such as Schools and Hospitals. I'd rather deal with asbestos any day vs dealing with some thing like an Ebola Virus.

Ok here is my take on this any time you are dealing with something like this and the unknown always error on the side of caution and the President has every right and should close flights from the infected area. As far as them flying to some other airport and then flying here will not work as you restrict visas from anyone living or visiting the area. What is scaring educated people is we know this administration is grossly incompetent and Obama is the biggest narcissist I have ever seen. He decided not to shut down travel against many advisors begging him to do so. Now he can't reverse his mistakes because it would show he made a mistake and he would rather put people at risk than to admit the made a mistake, this would be admitting he is not the smartest human being on earth something he can not fathom. My question is why did we bring the American Heath workers infected by Ebola to the U S? I have the utmost respect for these people and what they are doing. I am sure the last thing they would want is to bring Ebola to the U S.

We have I think three of the greatest Navy hospital ships and I would bet they are trained to handle bio chemical, nuclear, contagious disease better than any one in the world. Why do we not have one setting of their coast to take care of any Americans infected with Ebola.

And last Obama's way of handling an emergency is to put a political hack in as Ebola czar so he can spin all the mistakes he is going to continue to make. Any one else would have put the most knowledgable person on Ebola in charge only Obama would put a politician in charge, this is why everyone is scared. We see now a community organizer works.

The CDC will catch up and this thing will go away, it seems news organizations dropped ISIS as soon as they found another three headed monster to beat us over the head with.... Mr Obama is the worst demon to come down the pike according to you guys and this is just something else to demonize him with... Anybody remember the aids epidemic which seemed to me to deserve that title but three cases hardly makes an epidemic and by the way, which president did you guys try to crucify for the aids epidemic?

You're forgetting a couple things there slick, there is a family of 5 in Texas confirmed with it,and your hero Obama has signed an executive order allowing Ebola Patients from other countries to come here for treatment, there are over 15o people per day travelling into the USA from infected countries like Liberia and Sierra Leone.
While it hasn't been declared yet,the Ebola Virus in Africa in West Africa has mutated into an Airborne virus, just like other viruses have been known to do

Ebola ,sounds like a good way to thin out the herd of near retirement Baby Boomers fixing to flood the Social Security and Medicare funds that have been dipped into once too many times by the thieves in Washington DC

Just wanted to respond to a post from Mrsplitshot that I don't seem to be able to locate.... It just seems to me this ebola scare is more about selling news and the right wing using it to demonize the obama administration than anything else... If it progresses to a virus that can be transmitted by breathing it in we could have a real problem but from what I have read so far, it can only be transmitted by bodily fluids much like the aids virus... Other than the world of the homosexuals and needle junkies aids would not have been the demon it was/is... I suspect we as citizens are more likely to come in contact with that virus than the ebola virus and hopefully it won't find its way into those folks... This will go away and there will be something else that will grab the attn. of the afore mentioned folks and we will be getting beat over the head with a whole new monster living in the minds of paranoid people..

Alright boys, there's like 2 people out of 316 million in the United States that have Ebola.

Personally, I think it's time to dial back the apocalypse talk just a notch.

Therefore, I bring you a new installment here on the Fishin.com Off Topic Board, called Mexican Word of the Day:
