I qualify for a food stamp. I also qualify for VA medical service, do i use them? No Ah figures, love em. So a lot of poor folks get benefits totaling 10 bucks an hour! Lets see you're poor 24/7, times that by 10, and its a good wage. My second wife was on welfare for awhile. Married one year, one infant, and her husband had TB, almost half a year of quarantine at a sanatorium, she couldn't drive, had an infant, no income, no phone, no winter clothes for the kid, that sure sounds like luxury to me.You guys can bitch all you want, most of it is valid, but watch your step. many of you are a banana peel away minimum wage.
In the case example you give, I really don't have a problem with the aid.I qualify for a food stamp. I also qualify for VA medical service, do i use them? No Ah figures, love em. My problem is once you get past a certain point, and you've NOT tried to find a job or you're simply living off the system, I say CUT THEM OFF.
I'm sorry, but social programs are meant to be a hand up, not a hand out . We have way too many folks.....generations of folks who have known nothing but grubbing off of my taxes. I call ********.
And your point about a banana peel away from minimum wage.....Yea a LOT of people are that way.
I for one have always had short term and long term disability........either provided by my company or PROVIDED by me. I also follow the Dave Ramsey though process, and have 3-6 months of wages in liquid or near liquid instruments.
I understand some folks cannot do that, and that is OK, but I've always been one to lean towards the personal responsibility angle versus the gubment angle. Always have, always will. Does that mean I will never use a gubment program. HELL NO. I've paid into every **** program for 30 years. If I need assistance, I will gladly take it. BUT I guarantee you that before I accept assistance, I would have to be in a very serious bind.

A couple of the coffee stops i make daily, i have talked the several women, they make a few cents above minimum wage, they are restricted to 26 hrs a week,[insurance]. Two of them have two jobs each of similar nature, one has a dependant child, drives between glasgow and bowling green, works 7 days a week, and makes just about what it costs to live on. Why isn't she reaping the benefits? Plus she is not white, and eligible for much more off the gubment teat? why does she do it? Another one is a widow who's husband barely qualified for social security, her husband died and she never worked. A 70 year old women who also works two jobs, and helps a daughter married to a dead beat dad. I had a fairly good paying job, worked all the over time I could, drove a taxi part time, and delivered pizza as often as I could, thats why i was able to afford my boats and fishing tackle. Now I know too late my wife paid for my "good life". We have folks on welfare who are there not of their choosing. Gather up all these multiple fathers, who don't pay, and ock their asses up, till the sterilization day.
I thinks there would be more folks working, if the minimum wage would go to or above 10.00 an hour. the Government assistance makes a better life for them, than working for 7 bucks an hour. I have a good friend that works for walmart, my friend has been with walmart for 25 years and makes a good living there. but my friend told me they cut the workers down to 4 and a half hours a day, and some of them are driving 30 miles one way to work. my friend told me some of the workers said they feel like they are working for nothing after buying gas and lunch.A couple of the coffee stops i make daily, i have talked the several women, they make a few cents above minimum wage, they are restricted to 26 hrs a week,[insurance]. You can thank Obama Care for the cut in hours. If minimum wage goes up they will have to make more cuts Walmart is looking for retired people married women wanting a little extra money or entry level employees it is not meant to be for the bread winner unless you are in management.I thinks there would be more folks working, if the minimum wage would go to or above 10.00 an hour. the Government assistance makes a better life for them, than working for 7 bucks an hour. Yep.............BUT you will never convince the leftists of that. They had to cut costs somewhere due to the UNREAL COSTS of ObamaCare. You can thank Obama Care for the cut in hours. AND places like target cut folks hours, and then eliminated their ability to purchase "AFFORDABLE" group Insurance. They Cancelled it, and then forced them to the unreasonable exchanges. Yep....Gotta Love It.

just for kicks, i looked at prices it would cost me. cheapest i could get was about $400/month, $5300 deductible before it pays anything, and i still have to pay half the bill after that. didn't see anything about subsidies for me. WHAT A DEAL.
Repeal it, wont be any skin off my butt. then we can sit and watch future administrations try to do something about health care. Almost all civilized countrys have some sort of social security, some have had it for over 100 years, how do they do it. You want to talk entitlement, how about the military?? NO ONE FORCES THEM TO JOIN AND SERVE.. Yes it sounds harsh, I served, my step dad was retired army. My generation had an obligation to serve our country, and almost all my old friends were drafted or joined. Biut now its choice. Well geo, you said be responsible for your actions, does that come in degrees?
I don't think you will see much of a push from these right wing baby rattles toward repealing AHA.... The states that support them are heavily into obamacare and if they take gov healthcare away from the very people who voted for them I suspect that will bite them in the backside.
Amen brother!!!Yep.............BUT you will never convince the leftists of that. They had to cut costs somewhere due to the UNREAL COSTS of ObamaCare.

The Libs can see things like companies cutting hours or even mid sized company creating another smaller company (we just did for another reason but it helps with this) to spread the employees around but will still blame everything but obama. The fault will be on under paid non skilled workers not making $15 an hour or evil empires raking in billions of profit when the little old lady can't buy bread but helps that evil empire keep the doors open. It's very easy........ if companies have to pay more to keep the doors open then we all pay more for the services of that company. In the end, it didn't accomplish the goal of having more money in our pocket. Sure a few folks can beat the business model due to particular circumstances but as a rule companies will not go out of business without a fight.
(((i have said it over and over with the unions setting this prevailing wage system in our construction here in Kentucky. They couldn't so they found a stooge to push their legislation. Now we pay men $35-60 an hour to do the same exact job before this crap law. Guess what has happened? Jobs go over budget during the bidding process, companies get HUGE change orders during the construction of the project (because they need it to make up for the poor slow labor being performed) and guess what happened to the guys once that scale work is over? They quit and go find another company with similar work making that big money. Seems innocent and it is their right to move around but that small construction firm that purchased more equipment, paid overtime and potentially took a hit needs more workers. This presents problem after problem all because of the unions. Heck Fayette Countyis about bankrupt with their educational department. Projects go waaaay over on budgets and the nepotism and rascalism keeps on moving forward.)))
Bad things happen to good people all the time and it's heartbreaking but one can't deny the ramifications of terrible legislation, incompetent leadership and a faulty belief in some two bit slick talking idiot messiah that has lied and led them down the path of foolishness.
