Any bird watchers here? Had a big flock of cedar wax wings at my bird station this morning, juncos are here also. Saw a bald eagle at barren this week, and the first big flock of sandhill cranes this morning near barren river, guess canada geese are now a local species.

There is some change, but the seasonal patterns are about the same.take the juncos, I know when spring is here because they are gone. when I lived up north it was snow buntings. One thing I miss is the monarch butter flys, once in october you could see hundreds, now a few.I loved mid spring in the boonies, when the whippor wills called all night long, there are fewer of them now, none in the city. I have learned to appreciate nature, to open both my eyes, not the one down the barrel of my shot guns. I cant afford to do as much bird feeding as I used to, that stuff is getting costlier by the year. I learned to stop and smell the roses, I wont be able to smell the ones if there are any on my coffin.
We have a major problem with Geese at our fishing club. They get on the docks and boats and lay turds like dogs everywhere. It's disgusting and not good for people or their equipment. We were told that if they are hatched at the lake they will always return here or some may not leave. I don't know squat about geese except they lay dog turds and it gets everywhere! There is some change, but the seasonal patterns are about the same.take the juncos, I know when spring is here because they are gone. when I lived up north it was snow buntings. i was at the golf driving range today and a big flock(swarm) of small birds kept flying and landing about 200 yards out. They seemed to fly in perfect synchronization with every move, not sure what they were but there was a ****-ton of them.
i love the sound of nature....I miss the sounds of the swamps/marshes back home in Florida.
To recognize all the beauty in this world is truly a gift. A sunrise, or sun set, a rainbow, eyes to see, a nose to smell the blossoms, ears to hear the birds and animals. There have been several times in my life when I just stop and remember the hymn how great thou are. To much time is spent worrying about the other guys screwing you, or being petty. How about a thank you lord for what you have given me.

I agree thank you lord; I love seeing all the Bald Eagles what a magnificent bird. Your comment reminds me of something I saw the other day it is odd that black Friday comes the day after we give thanks for everything we have then the next day we stampede everyone to buy more.To recognize all the beauty in this world is truly a gift. I had a couple hundred of those black headed buzzards fly over going south a few weeks ago, most I've ever seen in a group,I dislike that type of vulture as I've lost two calves over the years to them killing them at birth.
Too bad we can't teach the other Immigrants to go south
