The early cold weather bite with live bait has been fantastic. I'm bottom fishing with shad, throwing the bait toward the channel an letting the bait settle in the 25/30 ft range. I try to focus on the fish moving from the deep toward the shallow. This method is working. I may run to 3 to 4 spots all similar looking for the moving fish to find my bait. Once I start getting the bites. It's on. For ever how long. I usually will give most areas 20 minutes or so.
Temps right at 50, This week fishing between Star point an Lilly Dale . Nothing has gone over. But several have touched 21. The fish look healthy. My best full day fishing was 12/3 Thursday, number wise. Hope this helps. Will try an load some pics
