Everybody is saying that, but food is easy pickings for a big cat like that in this country.Like I said earlier, besides the healthy deer herd here,we've had a huge amount of dogs, pets, and small livestock come up missing the past couple years .It coincides with numerous cougar sightings in surrounding counties. I can't find it ,but I was sent a video from friends that a teenager in his deer stand took a video of a cougar on Hwy 22 between Falmouth and Williamstown around Goforth. It was a legitimate video and the cougar looked different than the one killed Monday.
I'll find it soon, folks in Falmouth know the boy who took it,just haven't got up there to ask yet.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that we have a few young males migrating in state now, they have been steadily moving east for over 20 years, there are confirmed wild cougars in Illinois and Indiana, pictures and sightings in Ohio.
I know that you can buy them, and some people probably do turn them loose, but in honesty, what difference does it make if the thing is hunting and killing in the wild. You can turn a hog loose and in a year it's as wild as the next one, same thing applies to any animal.
We heard the same thing about bears before they said yes, they are here.We see them in Pendleton county regular now, here's one from November
