I have family in eastern ky and they swear they have see cougars roaming the hills out there. I always just thought that it was stories to scare me from going on the hillsides by myself. I always carried a 9mm up there just in case. Luckily the only thing I ever came across was coyotes.
I agree with the decision that was made to kill the animal but what if they start to establish a population in ky? Do we shoot everyone we see? I'm against doing that but understand how dangerous cougars are and what they can do to people and livestock. Curious to see how fish and wildlife handles the situation. IMO I believe it was someone's pet that got loose
