Yeah you definitely have to watch getting hooked on that vitamin p man. I kicked my habit cold turkey by getting married. There are millions of folks that didn't go to college that make a great living. My mom didn't go and worked her way all the way up to director of purchasing at one of the larger healthcare conglomerates in Louisville. She makes more than everybody in my immediate family and my wife's for that matter.
It's going to be tough going forward shoot I think you'll need 3 degrees just to flip burgers at mcD's before its all said and done. But hard work and wise lifestyle choices will always keep you a step ahead. You gotta want it. And you do have to work for a company that rewards hard work and/or sees the potential. On the flip side you have to be able to recognize fairly early what type of employer you are working for too. Everyday I go to work its like the road warriors against the Mulkey brothers, and we're not the ones that get "iron man" for entrance music. But Im a glutton for punishment and hopefully my kids will observe the hard work just like I did with my parents growing up.
My almost mother in law has worked for wal-mart literally forever and she makes a decent wage so I do know at least one person.
