Yeah you definitely have to watch getting hooked on that vitamin p man. I kicked my habit cold turkey by getting married. There are millions of folks that didn't go to college that make a great living. My mom didn't go and worked her way all the way up to director of purchasing at one of the larger healthcare conglomerates in Louisville. She makes more than everybody in my immediate family and my wife's for that matter.

It's going to be tough going forward shoot I think you'll need 3 degrees just to flip burgers at mcD's before its all said and done. But hard work and wise lifestyle choices will always keep you a step ahead. You gotta want it. And you do have to work for a company that rewards hard work and/or sees the potential. On the flip side you have to be able to recognize fairly early what type of employer you are working for too. Everyday I go to work its like the road warriors against the Mulkey brothers, and we're not the ones that get "iron man" for entrance music. But Im a glutton for punishment and hopefully my kids will observe the hard work just like I did with my parents growing up.

My almost mother in law has worked for wal-mart literally forever and she makes a decent wage so I do know at least one person.

Your Mother and mine had something in common. Mine only had a high school education as well but retired from Central State hospital after 30 plus years as a Labratory technician. I can still remember after she had over 20 years or so in she came home very upset. She told my Dad and us that she was possibly going to lose her job. The reason was state laws for her given field were to require a college degree moving forward and if she did not have one she would either have to pursue and obtain one or be let go.

Well long story short the man that was in charge of that entire labratory department litterally went to Frankfort and went to bat for Mom. He told them that Mom was actually his liason to help train and watch over the newby's straight from college and to show them the right way to do the work and what was expected. She was fantastic at her work and became a hands on scientist of all the equipment and human fluids with hands on training.

She was one of if not the best vampires they ever had down there. Now that would not wash today but wanted to share that story as your story of your Mom is closely related.

In my opinion hands on training is very under-rated in this world. I'm only as good as my helpers make me look, and quite frankly they are better than me right now even though I have the degree. The reason being is they all have worked there for years while I have only been in this particular sector about 6 months.
