You're better off taking an entry level position right out of high school and learning real, practical skills. At the end of 4 years, you'll have experience and have actually made money instead of spent it.
Some are, but a whole bunch of professional jobs in the Technical areas will not even look at you without a TECHNICAL degree. It is so hard getting good folks, and if you think you're going to compete for a technical job without a degree, you've got another thing coming..

India Technical schools are significantly better than ours, and folks coming out of those, AND coming here to work on H1B are basically "slaves" to that company......Kind of hard to compete with that, especially without the correct credentials.
