    Question rules

Who handles more footballs than either QB? The referee spots the ball, he usually is holding it before he puts it down. wouldn't he have noticed a difference?

I did some checking, there are no parameters as to where the footballs are to be inflated at. Isn't it conceivable that if the footballs were inflated within the set parameters while inside of an 80 degree locker room and brought outside into upper forty degree temps that they could have lost a fair amount of air pressure due solely to the simple scientific principle of air shrinking in volume as it cools? If the Pats used that lack of parameters to their advantage they could've intentionally inflated the footballs inside of a 100 degree room with full knowledge that the air pressure would be significantly lowered when the footballs were taken out in the cold. If this is the case it would not be cheating but instead would be playing smart by taking full advantage of a hole in the rules. Notice I always used the word football instead of ball as I didn't want anyone to make a joke about Brady playing with underinflated balls.

    yer right sweetwater

Never thought about it that way.I rented a car last year, and drove up north. On the trip up no warning lights, on the way back low tire pressure. there was a 40 degree temperature drop before my trip home.

Bill Belichick has said heat wasn't used and even for a person accept "conditions" to just coincidently to happen to alter them that still wouldn't explain why 11 of their 12 balls weren’t in compliance but all 12 of the Colts’ were.

First to keep in mind is that NFL refs are part-time employees of the NFL, most all have other full time careers with many being lawyers and other such professional jobs. While they are exerts on the rules, they really aren't experts on griping the football. With that small of a difference of PSI just simply holding the ball it really wouldn't feel much different. Now when gripping it and throwing it, that would make a big difference and one would certainly know the difference.
