So, I took my honey on a date last night and we went and saw American Sniper. She only agreed because she thinks Bradley Cooper is the sexiest man on the planet (other than me LOL), but I'll take what I can get.
All I can say is, wow.
I think the movie does a great job of not only providing a biography of Chris Kyle, but also showing what these men and women go through on tours in the Middle East. Even if it's 75% true life and 25% Hollywood, it's just amazing what these folks endure over there. Even more so in this movie, I think it shows the struggle that a lot of vets have with coming back home, leaving the battlefield behind, and getting back into a "normal life."
There were a lot of obvious Iraq/Afghanistan vets in our theater and they were cheering at a few points in the movie and hollering "Get Some!" and things like that. If they approved of the movie, I gotta believe it's pretty true to life.
I'm not ashamed to say that I had to wipe a couple of tears at the end. Powerful stuff.

I guess I will have to go see this one by myself as Mrs Hall won't go. Thanks for the review and it was what I expected to hear as I had every confidence Clint did this man and this movie justice.
Watched Hannity last night and Kyle's wife and father were interviewed by Sean. The wife loved the movie as much as one in her position could and said it was spot on. The father was not as giddy about it but still gave Cooper a ton of credit. By the way Kyle's father is a bad hombre and is a real man's man you can tell where Chris got the steel from.
They actually make Kyle's Dad out to be a bad hombre, so sounds like they nailed that one.
Despite not wanting to go, my wife really liked the movie. She said it was a lot more violent than she usually watches, but the story made up for it. She also said that fatter Bradley Cooper was really hot, but I didn't notice. I did think, however, that the chick who played his wife was hotter than two cats screwing in a wool sock...and that's pretty hot.

OK I went to see it and I have to say it is a fantastic movie. Chris Kyle was one helluva man, he was a great husband, father, son, brother and patriot. After that he was without a doubt one of the finest the US military has ever produced.
Who ever could call this man a coward or any like him a coward is a complete and total dumbass in every way and quite frankly non American!!!
Go see this movie it was worth it and his story was done justice by great directing and great acting, Bradley Cooper nailed this part. Oscar time better show this movie the love if they don't it's purely politically driven.
