I just don't understand the logic of some of you guys. Union employees DO NOT WORK FOR THE UNION!. This BS about protecting lazy asses dosn't compute.The work must get done. Thats where your pay comes from.You actually think a guy wants to do the work of a slacker for only his pay? I didn't mind helping a guy who wasn't feeling good, or who had a temporary problem. But dead wood didn't hget the work done. Management directs the work force, its in almost all labor conytracts, if loafing is going on, its the responsibility of management to fix the problem.As a union steward I couldn't get a guy to work faster or "hit the ball". If I tried I would standing in front of the NLRB, and in big trouble.I f I told someone to slow down, I would be fired, and in most cases the union wouldn't back me. The members would vote me out of office. In our plant you ndidn't need to join the union, and no dues were collected. But you could go to the union steward and ask why "nobody" likes me.
