My jerkbait and topwater rod have mono but that's it. I use braid on my c-rig with a leader and my spinning rod. I HATED braid until I learned that knot (not sure what it's called) and now I will never go back to mono for anything fished on the bottom. At Christmas tackle warehouse had Seaguar on sale so I bought a 1000 yards of 15# red label and got a nice price break that way. I use that on my tube/lizard rod and spinnerbait rod.

I agree that it is more expensive but now that I switched and understand the benefits it's worth it. I'm gonna give it a good test on the Kissimmee Chain in early March. I'll have it on my tube/lizard rod, spinnerbait and a misc(flukes,Yum dingers) bait rod. Rubbing against pads and weeds all day will rub the main line more than the knot area like when fishing rocks so it's going to be interesting go it goes....I'm betting it will shine with no difference in performance.
I too switched exclusively to Red Label. I love it. It is not as "smooth" as other floro, but just as strong as any of the top brands.

It doesn't tie very well with "bad" knots, much like all floro. I use the shaw grigsby floro knot, and it is the BEST of the BEST.

also, it doesn't like to tie to thinner diameter lines. So 10 lb braid to floro will create a sharp edge that will cut the not. But 40lb braid is not so bad. This goes for thinner floro too.

In Canada, I use 20lb fireline and then a 17lb floro leader. I have to manage this quite a bit, since it is a little light on the fireline side.......
