I think I suffer from PPD

It is with trepidation and angst that I post this about myself. I think I may be suffering from PPD. Post Purchase Depression. Maybe it's just that I suffer from SAD, Seasonally Affected Disorder.

It's winter in the heartland with grey skies and little sunshine. To ease my mind I have purchased several fishing items over the past few months. Nothing very expensive, mind you, probably less than $200.00 total.

Here I sit with all my new toys and I can't play with them!!

I've spooled new line on my new reel that's attached to the new fishing rod. I've practiced new knot tying on the new lures. I've sharpened old and new filet knives. I've watched fishing videos on TV and on the web ad nauseum.

Please,Lord would you hasten the arrival of spring.

I just might have found a solution. SUNSHINE IN A BOTTLE! In moderation, of course.

LOL it never fails you always make me smile with some of your posts. Its coming Robert and soon we will be setting the hook and yelling get the net. I feel Spring will make an early arrival this year some signs of it already are showing. Could be a bit of a wild ride yet through Feb but this month will go quick.

I feel your pain brother....I really do

I've done some of those things and maybe (probably) a few more. Let's just say I could comb my hair in the reflection on the side of my boat. Done some practicing too. As an Aussie said in a fishin video regarding practicing certain things on land, "When you go fishing it's called fishing, not practicing."

All dressed up and nowhere to go.

I looked at the bottles on the counter and after much thought and internal discussion I decided I'd prefer the slight bite of the taste of Buffalo Trace.

I placed one cube of ice in my bourbon glass and started to pour. Yikes!! It came out purple. Seems Mrs.Tyme had used the old Buffalo Trace bottle to "borrow" a little of the neighbor's homemade wine. Man, that'll deflate your football in a hurry.

Second choice was actually my first choice and I poured a dram or two of Woodford Reserve into a fresh glass.

Sunshine is working on my mood now.

Whether saying it or hearing it, "Get the Net" are three words a fisherman loves to hear.

However, onemorecast56 is a peepoor "net boy". I had a nice smallie on the hook and Doug was trying to get his collapsible net uncollasped. When he finally got the net ready my smallie swam under, around, and jumped over the net for what seemed forever.

Doug and I were laughing our butts off all the while with me politely cursing at him and calling him every name in the book. All ended with with him netting the bass. Fish was photographed and released.
