Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
This was put in place for a reason and that reason was not to establish christianity as the national religion..
Because they wanted separation..........but not elimination which seems to be the BAR set by the current establishment. Maybe not you, but the haters on the left definitely want GOD eliminated from everything that made this country what it is.And how many times are the christian god and religion mentioned in the constitution? Again, if the US was set up as a Christian nation, why did the founding fathers not specifically state so in the constitution or amendments? The US was set up as a secular nation where people could worship however they wanted, not as a theocracy.
Revisionism by the LEFT is evil, pure evil..........
Those are all leftist sites.........not even looking at them.
I pulled my information directly from TEXTS from the library of congress, and it took me quite a few hours to compile it, so sorry, if I don't play the game.
I also pulled some supporting literature from to theological sites.....but I didn't use them to base my opinion...
You are ABSOLUTELY right. The Church of England and the Government were one of the same. BUT that doesn't mean that they didn't want God and Religion to be a gigantic component of the country. You seem to be leaving out a huge part of the puzzle.
Pathetic, even for you. If you had bothered to read the links I posted you would find quotes by our founding fathers from books they published and letters they sent each other. I'm sure this is all in the library of congress. Those are all leftist sites.........not even looking at them.
