Winter is putting a very hard hit on the wallet, no fishing on the weekends finds me browsing the web for equipment, Tackle Warehouse most likely has me on the preferred customer list by now, and the gift cards from BPS and Cabelas are finally burned on stuff along with all my reward points, now I need spring to test out the rods and reels I upgrade to long with the lures, like I really needed them, maybe I will need a bigger boat to, LMAO. Thank the boss for all the Saturday OT all winter.

I hear ha.....my spending is being motivated by an upcoming fishing trip. My problem is I started buying stuff waaaay to early so now I'm browsing for crap I really don't need.Winter is putting a very hard hit on the wallet, no fishing on the weekends finds me browsing the web for equipment, Tackle Warehouse most likely has me on the preferred customer list by now, and the gift cards from BPS and Cabelas are finally burned on stuff along with all my reward points, now I need spring to test out the rods and reels I upgrade to long with the lures, like I really needed them, maybe I will need a bigger boat to, LMAO. on the good side the Winter hasn't been as brutal as normal around here. I actually played Golf Saturday and it was in the 60's so I actually got a little warm out there....but man it was beautiful!!!!!
Back home in The Heart of Dixie the pre-spawn pattern is starting to light up the scales by now. With that in mind it's a snafu to be here at this time of the year.
Just think of that pattern multiplied by 40 years, and you'll be amazed and shocked by all the unused , vital at the time, equipment you amass. This pile becomes more impressive if you are a multiple species angler, and throw in a few bucks for some salt water gear, you'll wonder "where the hell did I get all thois money from"?
I hear ya, I live in NJ, the Bay is walking distance from my house and the Stripers run up the river to spawn, between bass fishing and the salt down the road, its a pricey sport/recreation, and add over 40 years worth of tackle, yikes my shed is loaded.
