My buddy and I were night fishing at Norris a couple of summers ago. As we trolled from one point to the next in Cove Creek, I got a phone call, picked up my phone to see who it was, didn't know the number and stuck the phone in my pocket. On the next point, I set the hook on a fish and the seat pedestal snapped and backwards I went into the water. When I surfaced, the first words out of my mouth were, "My rod!" Luckily, my Quantum PT rod and Chronarch were floating right next to my head. I grabbed the rod and layed it in the boat and then I remembered that my cell phone, wallet, cigarettes and lighter were in my pockets. I was so weighted down I couldn't get back in the boat (didn't have a ladder) so my buddy had to troll over to the bank for me to get in. Luckily, I had my rain gear in the boat, so I stripped down to my boxers and put on my rain gear and, of course, kept fishing. We made a quick run up to Big Creek and were fishing a point there. I was standing on the back deck and heard a noise at my feet. I jerked my head around just in time to see my Skeet Reese spinnerbait rod and Chronarch MG go sliding off the deck and into the lake. Couldn't catch it and tried for 30 minutes to hook it with no success. Now here's the kicker - it was my birthday! As I said to my fishing buddy, "Happy $%@# birthday to me!"
