    otters

Is anybody for keeping these critters around? I have personally seen them cleaning out ponds and creeks. They have no pressure to keep them in check. Can anybody enlighten me for any reason these varmits around? If it was up to me I would put a bounty on them and wipe them out. The beaver are annoying but don't cause much trouble. Another point is from what I have seen that otters multiply quickly.

    Otter are nothing

I'm a delta fisherman from California, I would have a great slough to fish then the otters would show up. Most of the smaller fish leave the area . Now there real pests were sea lions. I had striper spots where I could catch fish over the weeds in shallow bays all day long. One day I was there and a sea lion moved in . As I was attempting to catch fish. The sea lions was catching an ripping the guts out of 10-15lb stripers one after the other. That killed that fishing area, I never caught another fish out of that bay in the last 2 yrs. I lived there.

you do not want beaver to get in small lakes or ponds if the burrow in the dam you could lose the dam. I had a friend who lost a pond from where a beaver had weakened the dam.

There is a creek I fish right on the river. there is a otter than hangs out there. I have hooked him one time. but we catch good size stripers and cats there. Cant say that he is doing any real harm there. we kind of look forward to see the critter around when we go now.

They have severely damaged the local fisheries. They were part of a project to return some native species back to their original habitat. Thanks KDFWR!!!
