I just watched a sports program about Coach Cal and the tag line associated with him on the one and done mentality. He said who is he to stop a young man from leaving and he said he doesn't try and make them stay either. Take what you will from that.

The also asked Coach K of Duke on his input with one and done. He said they now actively go for these type of players because why not? They have to play against them all the time so if you can't beat them join them. It is the way things are done now.

IMO...I think the kids should have to play for a college for 2 years minimum and no more straight from high school players to the NBA, of course high school kids going to the NBA will take some action by the NBA to stop it and I doubt they will do that.

The college kids playing 2 years will give some of the mid major colleges a better chance since there are only so many positions on a team. UK, Duke, Kansas, NC, FL or UL can't take them all. They have to go somewhere so the schools who don't traditionally get the studs will now have a chance and the games will be alot more exciting.

All good ideas. Neither the NBA nor the colleges are going to kill the Golden Goose but I do like the idea of being 20 years old to sign an NBA contract.

You can't blame these players that are one and done. I'd leave school after a season to if I had a legit chance of making money. I believe that the players should have the chance to be drafted out of high school. If they get drafted they play in the pros. However if the players don't get drafted out of high school make them play 2 years of college ball. Maybe even 3? It should bring balance to the game and give nba scouts real time to scout these players. Any thoughts?
