    New trailer tire Tyme

My current tires are dated 2004, past tyme for new ones.

My boat is kept in my boat barn so sun deterioration is nil. The tread is still good and there is no sign of cracking on the sidewalls. Still, 11 years old is way past time to put new ones on.
I called my local shop that I've dealt with for years and got what I believed to be a fair price, under $100.00 each before sales tax.

I'm replacing the Goodyear Marathon ST 205/75 R-14 with the same.

Before you buy the Goodyears checkout Carlisle, Maxxis 8008, and Kumho 857's. These are the trailer tires that get the best reviews on bass boat trailers on other sites.

Thanks for the input but the I've had zero issues with the Marathons. I always kept them inflated to 50 PSI cold.

We have the exact same tire on our trailer except they are 215's instead of 205's. Zero issues with them too so why work on the plumbing if you don't have a leak.

    Tyme -

There are much cheaper options than Goodyear Marathons....but I'll tell you this....

I've been in the tire business for 16 years and when the cheap stock tires are shot on my new boat trailer, I'll be putting Goodyear Marathons back on.

When you are mindful of inflation (sounds like you are), I really haven't seen anything that wears better on a boat trailer than a Goodyear. There are some other good tires, yes, but you can't go wrong with the Marathons.

Who is your local shop? I'm a Goodyear warehouse distributor and we supply a lot of the independent tire shops with their rubber. You might be buying from one of my customers.
