Got a new boat, so I was out breaking in the motor. The water was pretty high with lots of debris Managed to spider rig some - several bass 8 - 15 inches. Only one crappie under a bobber but was 10.5" fish. Water was 61 and stained.

Fished Apr 9 thru 11 for bass. Lake was about 1 to 3 feet over summer pool. Water temp ranged from 63 to 67 degrees late in the day.
Managed to catch around 10 to 15 small bass(12" to 14") in the flooded cover on black/blue jigs. Seemed like the fish are on the verge of moving up in a big way. We tried fishing the first break out from the shallow flats with no success, but they were there on the graph.
Lake was going up and down, but with this weeks weather, lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's, they should be moving....if the water is stable.
Also, seemed like the fish are on what I term as lead in banks. On ideas on how to catch these fish? Though about a carolina rig....
My brother caught about 12 keeper crappie on Thursday with road runner jigs, chartreuse with a red head.
Yep those road runners are the ticket on Nolin... The lake is horrible right now really muddy and dangerous . Don't be a dummy like me and go out there and hit a submerged log and tear up your motor . I did that on march 24th the lake was very high then. But we went out in Keith's boat and he wacked the largemouth on white spinner baits . I caught like 22 crappie on the bank but only 3 keepers
