I'm going to Barkley to sit in the rain.

I might not be ready to go fishing but my boat is.
Fishing gear is loaded up, enough life jackets for all, boat fire extinguisher checked, trailer wheel bearings lubed, trailer tires at correct pressure, trailer lights work, fuel and oil for the boat is topped off, mooring lines checked, dock fenders loaded, extension cord to charge on board batteries , bottle jack and 4 way lug wrench in case we have a trailer tire mishap and I fired up the boat motor to make sure it would start after the long winter. I've also got my fishing license, boat registration , insurance information, etc in a zip lock bag in the boat's glove box.
Whew, is there something I forgot?
Also have a tool kit (although I wouldn't know how to fix anything) .

( Plenty of bourbon for inside our lodging)

Did you Vacume the carpet several times to clean up after each of your projects? Lol

    Good check list.

Maybe stow some granola bars, pretzels or nuts or something for when you don't take food or enough food and you want to stay out.
    Batteries for flash light.

I'm doing the same thing. I got the combo hunting/fishing IN license and the boat's registration paperwork and stickers ready in/on the boat. I still need to put new fishing line on all the reels. Don't want to lose a big bass or crappie by having old weak fishing line on the reels. I should check the gas in the boat and maybe replace it with some new fresh gas. But I put stabile and sea foam in the gas for winter storage and it usually make the gas good for the next spring. But if you have trouble getting the motor to start a new spark plug and some new gasoline helps.

Have fun and stay safe. I'm in the market this year for one of these new life jackets that inflates when it's in the water and not inside the boat compartments when it rains. But I want to get one that will keep my head up out of the water if I am unconscious. I can't hop in and out of the boat like I could when I was in my 20's these days. I turned 64 last January and age is catching up with me finally.
