I believe we have the right to bear arms and I hate gubment interference but I'm smart enough to recognize a bafoon when I see one and I know several that shouldn't carry even though they passed the test. Would an elected official be any different?
I'm not sure if a constable is allowed to carry or not, I would think they would be no different than anyone else. Personally I will have a hand gun close to me as much as possible. I have one in both vehicles, in the boat and a 357 in the nightstand right beside of where I sleep at. They are all fully loaded except the auto and it does not have a round in the barrel. I wouldn't want to accidently shoot anyone like volunteer Deputy Barney Fife did. They should've made him keep his bullet in his pocket.
