The LV main ramp was barely usable last Sunday when the lake was at 681. It's at 687 now. In the past I've seen boats launched off of the downhill approach to LV ramp when the lake is this high but I've never tried it myself.

We are having a small church tourney this Saturday. Is Lone Valley ramp usable now with all the rain that has come through?

It was up 13ft and rising fast as of this morning. If you launch at lone valley youll be launching from the road and depending where the water level is it can be tough/impossible. Not any good ramps to use when the waters this high but ill be getting a boat in somewhere this weekend
I often use the Butler Creek ramp when the water is high. I drove over to the Butler ramp today and it looks like a person could easily unload from the road...the problem is parking...there is no marked parking spaces so it is park where you want/can and there is not a lot of space. I was there Saturday 4/11 and parking was somewhat full. The lake has rose quite a bit since then leaving other ramps unusable or hard to use so there will be even more to use Butler this weekend. If you do not get there early parking could be an issue. Unloading is one at a time so with limited parking and one at a time unloading a tournament is not feasible out of that ramp.
It's been 20 years or so but I do recall unloading at Emerald Isle Marina at very high water. I was with a friend that had picked his boat up from a mechanic that lived just outside of Campbellsville towards Mansville. We were taking his boat out for a test ride. If my memory is correct the guy who worked on his boat was Rodger Brite...If my information is correct Rodger has been dead for a few years now. In his day he was a heck of a wrench on a carburetor motor. Anyways when we picked the boat up he suggested we use Emerald Isle Marina because he thought that Emerald Isle Marina was the best high water ramp on the entire lake. It's been 20 years or so but for some reason I still remember him saying that. As for myself that ramp is on the wrong end of the lake from where I live. I use Butler at high water. I have no idea how parking is at Emeral Isle Marina. I only used the ramp once and that was 20 years ago.
Here is a crappy cell phone picture of Holmes Bend on 4/15 Click on picture to enlarge it.
If you look in the center of the picture you can see a telephone pole with the security light and the roof of the building where you pay your launch fee...that's in the lower parking lot. You can see that the 2nd parking lot is 50% full of water. I took the picture when I was sitting in the third parking lot.
According to the COE chart, Green is 12.4ft over Summer Pool (as of this AM) and rising ... and I heard it's "projected" to be 20ft over Summer Pool by this weekend. All things considered, I think you'd be better off going to Cumberland, Barren, or even Cedar Creek ... depending on which one is closest to your area. Otherwise, I think I'd postpone the tourney until sometime in May.
... pappy
It rose 3 more feet in the last 24 hours. The COE reported the level at 690.5 at 8 am on 4/16...we are currently having a pretty good downpour as I am typing this. The record high of 705.2 that was set in 1979 might be in jeopardy if there is much more rain in the future. Based on how the lake rose from Wednesday's light rain and then adding in the good downpour we are currently getting I can easily see the lake rising 7-8 more feet.
Its supposed to peak near 20ft over summer pool this weekend, but then we have a 100% chance of rain sunday and 80% monday. Its gonna take a good dry spell for them to get it back near summer pool
Roger Bright the outboard mechanic & retired school bus driver is alive and well. There was another Roger Bright that died a few years back, I think he worked at IR. My hubby grew up close to Emerald Isle, he said it should still be usable.I often use the Butler Creek ramp when the water is high.
