Another decent place to stay but not close to the dam is the Great American Motel in Aurora. It is about 7/10 of a mile from entrance to Kenlake State Park. I just stayed there on Friday night. I was there for my son's graduation from Murray State. There were several fishermen there. Not a lot of frills but do you really need them. They have room out front to park your rig hooked up and plug it in. The owners who have not been there very long are very nice and welcoming. They are constantly doing what they can to make the place better and welcome suggestions. In season, like now, I paid $57 for the night with taxes and fees. My room had two full-size beds, a mini-fridge and microwave. I don't remember if it had a coffee pot only because I don't drink coffee. I do remember seeing two cups though so maybe there was one. Just ask when you call to book a room. There is also a pool but it was not open yet.

Peter, I just had a thought that maybe you could dedicate a page or thread (whatever it is called) on here where we can put lodging information for the places we all stay. That way when we go to a new lake or even one we fish alot we can know in advance of a few places to stay and general costs.
