I have never fished Barren but here is the water levels and it looks to be only 2 feet over summer pool.http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydro...lmk&gage=brrk2

Ok, I do not post on here very often but I constantly lurk in the shadows looking for hot tips. I have fished Barren a few times in the last few weeks. Every ramp I have visited has been accessible. Some stripers were being caught last week in the flooded areas and below the dam which may be good early and late. The water has since returned (nearly) to summer pool so I am not sure if those pattern still holds. I would bet the gills would be on bed in the backs of coves near gravel. Not much help but, hopefully that leads you to something.

Barren has been letting water out fast all week and like the previous person said we are almost if not back to summer pool. If they stop letting water out tonight hopefully the fishing should pick up . My suggestion would be to put in at beaver creek boat ramp and head towards the 31bridge stopping at coon creek to fish and then move on to the bridge and then up skaggs. Coon creek has been in fire for me here lately so make sure you fish it well all the way around. Good luck, have fun and be safe!

put in beaver creek no issues, about 15 trailers in parking lot. water stained and still up, caught 11 largest 2lbs with son catching 10 of those which is fine with me 😳 most on soft plastics a couple on crank baits in 10 to 15 feet! a good day!!!
Fished skags and in beaver today caught 10keepers all on tubes halfway back in pockets. Some still spawing best 5 weight 15lbs lost one 7 to 8! A lot of small keepers are starting to stack up points of pockets near main. Couldn't get any topwater bite what so ever?
Thanks for the reports guys.
