Question KY Lake Crappie and Bluegills

My son and I will be renting a boat from KY Dam Marina at the end of June. We have never fished Kentucky Lake so any help with presentation and locations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i can't help with locations for those fish that time of the year but if you have never been on that lake before be very careful on it. make sure you stay in the channel or you could rack up a big damage bill or get seriously injured. sorry if i'm no help.

thanks for the info, but do you mean the main lake gets very choppy? and has lots of rocks on the bottom that i could run into? not sure what you mean when you say "you could rack up a big damage bill?

choppy is a understatement. ky lake is a HUGE lake that actually has a horizon and if the wind gets blowing north/south you will have big swells. i've been there when there were 4ft swells and it was one of the scariest things i've ever been a part of. but there are tons of high spots on that lake, you can be in 30 foot of water and 5 foot to your left there will only be 4 foot of water. there are tons of ledges on that lake making it very dangerous if you leave the channel and don't have a clue where the shallow spots are. if you stay in between the channel markers you'll be fine. hopefully someone else will chime in and help because i'm not much help. i only go there once a year.
